During a conference in Brazil: President of the Constitutional Council acknowledges the politicization of the body
President of the Constitutional Council, Luis Antonio Mondlane, admitted that his institution is suffering from political influences. Mondlane showed how the judges of the Constitutional Council are established, specifically the appointment by the President of the Republic and the election by the parliamentary political parties as the reason for the politicization of the body. The Constitution defines the Constitutional Council as one of five bodies of the sovereign state (alongside the president, parliament, courts and government), stressed the President of the Constitutional Council.   To Mondlane, the criterion for selecting judges led the board to the political arena.
